This policy explains how Guardland Security Ltd (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data through this website and when we provide our services. We are the data controller. Guardland Security Ltd is registered in Ireland, CRO no. 687418.

What we collect

• Survey and quote requests: when you use the contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address, property type, Eircode, the services you’re interested in, and anything you write in the message box, including any online price estimate you send us.
• Customers: if you become a customer we keep your contact details, the installation address, details of the system we installed, and service and maintenance records.
• Website visits: basic, aggregated visitor statistics (such as pages viewed) collected through our website platform.

Why we use it

• To respond to your enquiry, arrange a site survey and prepare a quote (steps taken at your request before entering a contract).
• To install, maintain and service your system, and to keep the records needed for certification and insurance (performance of a contract and legal obligations).
• To keep the website secure and protect our contact form from spam (our legitimate interests).

We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• Our website provider: this site is hosted on WordPress.com (Automattic). Form messages are stored there and emailed to us, and are checked for spam by Akismet.
• Monitoring centre: if you choose a monitored alarm, we pass the details needed to connect and respond to your alarm to the monitoring provider.
• Authorities and advisers: where the law requires it, or to our accountants, insurers or legal advisers where necessary.

Some of these providers may process data outside the EEA. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under EU law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that don’t go ahead for up to 12 months. We keep customer and installation records for as long as we look after your system and for up to 6 years after that, for warranty, certification, tax and legal purposes.

CCTV systems we install

When we install CCTV for you, you are the controller of the footage it records. We only view recordings when you ask us to, for example during servicing or to help retrieve footage. We set up signage, privacy masking and retention periods in line with Data Protection Commission guidance.

This website uses only the cookies needed for it to work, along with the cookies our website platform uses to measure visits and prevent spam.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to how we use it. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
